Some pics from the weekend! We went to the nude beach and saw the most amazing sight: a gentleman powerwalking up and down the beach with the largest unit I have ever seen. When he was walking away from us, full on back to us, we could still see glimpses of his tallywhacker past his outer thigh as he sauntered down the sand. With every pass we (as well as the rest of the beach) couldn’t help stopping our conversation and staring – heads would turn slowly like some zombie slow tennis game. Thankfully (?) no pictures or video even though the Mailman insisted I try.

Cocomisogyny
A co-worker brought in some Baci chocolate and wrapped around each one was a quote designed to get you horny or romantic or horny for romance or something. As far as I can glean, most think women are malleable objects and men are MEN:
“By all means marry. If you get a good wife you will become happy, and if you get a bad one you will become a philosopher.” –Socrate (sic)
“When writing of women, the pen should be dipped in a rainbow.” — D. Dederot
“If God had not created woman, he would not have created flowers.” — V Hugo
And my personal fave:
“Only men who are not interested in women are interested in their clothes.” — A France
Good Morning!
6am. Phone rings
Sharkboy: Hello?
Caller: Is this Tracy?
Sharkboy: Obviously not. Unless Tracy is a man and grown a dick!
Caller: Oh. Sorry.

Doors Open 2008
Full gallery here at my Picasa Web Album.
This was my first Doors Open event. For those of you across the pond, or not from our city, once a year a great number of otherwise closed Toronto facilities open their doors to the public for a weekend. Spaces that you may never get to see in your lifetime are open to you. For example, the mayor’s office was open (under heavy guard) for you to peek into his cabinets of mementos and reading materials (zzzz). Or you could see the outlandish but uber-trendy Drake Hotel’s custom boutique hotel room’s custom wallpaper (and not have to endure a sleazy trendy one night stand). I thought it was going to be a bit dull but I found all of it extremely interesting.
Some select shots:
Me with a musket that takes a full 30 some odd seconds to load (if you’re quick)
Us with Steamy! from the Steamwhistle Brewing Company (owners of the old Roundhouse)
Malabar Costumes Wear-house (geddit?). Racks of pantaloons!
A bar just behind the city council chamber. Ten Forward has nothing like this!
And for fun, a preview of the ROTC routine this year:
Weekend Update
The above is the result of at least 2 hours of filming and editing using Adobe Premier Elements 3. I have a very slow computer.
Not much else got done this weekend. I did see Narnia but unfortunately Shelly slept through 2/3rds of it so no review. Didn’t see the first one? Don’t bother. Don’t remember much of the first one? Don’t bother. Think stealing Deus Ex Machina ideas from The Lord of the Rings is cheap? Don’t bother. In all… you got it.
We did have dim sum on the weekend and it was delicious. Unfortunately the brunt of the meal arrived as we were taking off our coats. Literally. Seven of us grab a table in our not-so-favorite place on Dundas and within seconds we were set upon by 4 women with steaming carts. Mr Insurance, a friend that I am mentioning here for the first time on Deadrobot.com, actually had to turn to one of the cart women from hell and say “Go. Away.” We were done our meal in 30 minutes. Which is a shame because it’s always super good and super cheap.
We had this interesting discussion about moving the long weekend back one weekend. I don’t recall any long weekend in my alcohol soaked memory where the weather was actually good. Sorry Queen Vic, but the people have spoken.

Start Your Long Weekend Right
